BRIDGE NETWORK AIMS
Student-Focused Aims:
Aim 1. Provide students with information about targeted initiatives. The network aims to improve students' access to graduate programs' initiatives that may be of interest. For example, networked graduate programs frequently hold visit days where students may apply to formally visit a program before determining whether the program is a good fit for their educational goals. Check out our calendar to see these events or join our listserv to receive event notifications in your inbox.
Aim 2. Connect students to programs with a clear value for diversity and inclusion. Students may use the network website to gain information about current initiatives and graduate programs. Interested students may also wish to register for the network listserv to receive updates about inclusion initiatives.
Aim 3. Increase student support in applying to graduate programs. To further our collective goal of promoting diversity and inclusion in graduate education, the student focused section of our website also includes guides for students who are applying to graduate school.
Graduate Program-Focused Aims:
Aim 1: Material sharing. Programs in the network share materials that may be used to improve other programs’ initiatives. Such materials are available to all programs in the network. Examples of such materials include: recruitment flyers, agendas, budgets, and a list of funding sources.
Aim 2: Enhanced communication and idea exchange. Contact information for representatives from linked programs are listed in a shared directory to promote communication between programs. Additionally, linked programs exchange ideas and feedback via a question and answer thread with the purpose of improving initiatives.
Aim 3: Research outcomes. Linked programs collaborate on research pertaining to the success of inclusion initiatives.
